Note: Barangay mediation is encouraged as the first step. If a settlement is reached, no further legal proceedings are necessary.
How to File a Case
- Visit the Barangay Hall and proceed to the Lupon Tagapamayapa office.
- Fill out the complaint form and provide details about the case.
- Submit supporting documents, such as affidavits or any evidence.
- A Barangay Summon will be issued to the involved party for a mediation schedule.
- Attend the mediation hearing to attempt a peaceful settlement.
- If no settlement is reached, the Certificate to File Action may be issued to proceed with legal action in court.
